OFFICIAL RESULTS OF KOSOVO ELECTIONS: RUGOVA FIRST, THACI SECOND, SERB COALITION THIRD
PRISTINA, Nov. 25 (Beta) - The Democratic Alliance of Kosovo led by Ibrahim Rugova has officially been declared the winner of Nov. 17 elections in Kosovo, taking 45.6 percent of the ballot, or 47 seats in Kosovo's future assembly.
Hashim Thaci's Democratic Party of Kosovo came in second with 26 seats in the assembly, or 25.70 percent of the vote, the final results of the election, revealed by UNMIK chief Hans Haekkerup in Pristina on Nov. 26, showed.
The Serb Return coalition won 11.34 percent of the vote, giving it a total of 22 seats.
Fourth was the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo led by Ramush Haradinaj, with 7.83 percent or eight seats in the assembly.
The Muslim Vatan coalition won one seat, and a total of four, including three default seats. The People's Movement for the Liberation of Kosovo, the Albanian Democratic Christian Party of Kosovo, the Party of Justice, and the National Movement of Kosovo received one seat each. Apart from the Serbs, the other non-Albanians will hold nine seats.
An inaugural session of the Kosovo assembly will be held on Dec. 10.
RUSSIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY ON KOSOVO ELECTIONS
MOSCOW, Nov 20 (Tanjug) - Russia on Tuesday called on all sides in Kosovo and Metohija interested in regulating the situation and overcoming the crisis to cooperate with each other.
A statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry released on the occasion of the parliamentary elections in Kosovo and Metohija said the appeal was sent to international organizations, the Yugoslav authorities, and representatives of the local population and the newly-elected provincial institutions.
The Ministry said international structures, primarily the United Nations mission in Kosovo and Metohija, were the most responsible for respecting UN Security Council Resolution 1244 which establishes the principle of territorial integrity and respect for the sovereignty of Yugoslavia.
Russia at the same time warned that special caution was required because of the fact that all Kosovo Albanian parties which won majority seats in parliament had proclaimed as their main goal independence from the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, and not the construction of a democratic and multiethnic society.

POVRATAK COALITION VIEWS ON KOSOVO ELECTIONS
PRISTINA, Nov 20 ( Beta) - On the evening on Nov. 19, the Serb "Povratak" coalition election committee confirmed that in the general elections in Kosovo, the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo of Ibrahim Rugova won 47 seats in the future local assembly, while the Kosovo Serbs will have 22 representatives.
According to the "Povratak" coalitions latest figures, the Democratic Party of Kosovo of Hashim Thaci received 27 seats, the Alliance for Future of Kosovo eight, Bosniaks in Kosovo four, while the remaining 12 seats in the local assembly will be distributed among candidates of minority communities.
The Belgrade office of the "Povratak" coalition election committee told the press that in accordance with the Constitutional framework in Kosovo, the seven-member provincial presidency would have four representatives of Kosovo Albanians, two of Kosovo Serbs, while one would be appointed by minority communities.
According to the Constitutional framework regulations, the two parties that won most votes will each appoint two members of the Kosovo presidency, the third strongest election party has one seat, while Serbs and other non-Albanians are automatically given one seat each.
Serbs, as the third strongest force in the future Kosovo assembly will have two members in the Kosovo Presidency, one on the basis of the election results, the other automatically.

KOSOVO SERB WOMAN KILLED, HUSBAND SERIOUSLY INJURED
PRISTINA, Nov 23 (Tanjug) - One Serb woman was killed and her husband seriously injured when unknown attackers opened fire at them in Obilic near Pristina, central Kosovo, UNMIK spokesman Andrea Angeli said in Pristina on Friday.
Milica Mirosavljevic (60) was killed on the spot and her husband Stojadin (70) was transported to KFOR hospital in Kosovo Polje, Angeli said.
The attackers shot at the couple from a car when the Mirosavljevics left the Obilic railway station building, the spokesman said.
Angeli said that an explosion had also been heard. UNMIK says that the UN police have launched an investigation into the incident.
